Somalijustice.org is a website that takes a look into Somali life, culture, and politics. It is about sharing stories beyond the usual tales of civil war, drought, famine, conflict, lawlessness, and piracy. It features stories of the daily life, struggles, hopes, and the work locals and people from around the world do to help a country caught in the quagmire of hardships, hunger, and poverty. On this site you will find articles, book recommendations, videos and films, and so much more.
Armed with a First Class honors degree in BSc Zoology (INT), which included a transformative study abroad year in Australia, I immersed myself in studying the intricate dynamics of social learning and pack structure among African painted wolves (Lycaon pictus) for my undergraduate research. Following graduation, I engaged in diverse roles, including presenting on a boat in Scotland and collaborating with the Zoological Society of London. In September 2019, I pursued an MA in Wildlife Filmmaking at UWE, an esteemed program conducted in collaboration with the BBC Natural History Unit. The culmination of my academic and professional journey led to the creation of 'I Am Capable,' an award-winning film celebrating the remarkable achievements of Amira Patel. Amira stands as a trailblazing Muslim woman, breaking barriers and championing inclusivity in the great outdoors.
